Scoping work remains steadiest at this time on Case CATalyst and Eclipse. (March 5, 2010) What court reporters want the most is a quality-trained scopist!! Wouldn't you like to work from the comfort of your home year round?! Get started now so you're ready by Spring/Summer of 2010. |
SMA Hours of Availability for its students: Monday - Thursday, all day Friday & Saturday, 9 - 5 p.m. Sundays - Off Students may still contact SMA during off hours, but responses will be restricted to the hours listed above. |
Why Choose SMA? Follow this link and you will be taken to a page that explains the many ways why SMA has become so successful. Experience in the field does not always matter. What you learn while you are in the field and how you teach that so that your graduates will meet with immediate success rather than failure is what SMA is all about. SMA's philosophy is: My success is dependent upon your success!! |
| How long will it take you?? This scoping training program will take approximately two to three months to learn the basics, depending upon your work and study schedule. The fine-tuning of your skills will continue in the following three months. Since there is so much to learn and sometimes our brains cannot handle it, one should plan for six months of training before marketing their scoping skills. Once you've gone through the basics, then you will be working on transcripts. It is during this process that SMA will be able to measure your level of punctuation and contextual reading skills. I will be assisting while you begin working with court reporters because there is so much to learn. SMA recommends that you keep your current position until you start to have court reporters sending you work on a regular basis while you gain efficiency in your scoping technique. An exit exam will be given to the graduating students so that both the scopist and court reporters will know that the SMA scopists are prepared to tackle the work at hand. Please contact me at sma@joyfulscoping.com for more information. Or send an email to me and I'll be happy to call you and tell you more. |
